Combi tinboxes by Christian Delorme

Since 2006, French company Christian Delorme Packaging has specialised in making personalised metal packaging in the shape of various vehicles, including the Volkswagen T1 and the New Beetle.

The buses are used worldwide for packaging biscuits, sweets and pencils. Among Volkswagen enthusiasts, they have also been fanatically collected since last year.
Unfortunately, it is not easy to find them. It is possible to order them at Christian Delorme Packaing, but they are sold per box of 24. Here in the Netherlands, they are sold at ‘De SmaakBeleving’, filled with Cannoli, an Italian delicacy. In Germany, they are sold at Aldi Nord a few times a year, filled with biscuits. We got most of them from France, where they can be found second-hand.

That’s also where we got the more special versions from, there are companies that have buses made with their own design, in a limited edition, often only available for sale locally in France. The prices therefore vary quite a bit, from a few euros for a standard bus, to dozens of euros for the special versions.

We have built up a nice collection, but we are still looking for new buses to add to our collection.
